"Right Here, Right Now": Fatboy Slim plays live the Greta Thunberg remix
After the UN speech by climate activist Greta Thunberg, a remix of it on the Internet quickly made the rounds - her words were mixed to a classic of the DJ Fatboy Slim. He took over the piece for a live performance.
British DJ Fatboy Slim has paid homage to climate activist Greta Thunberg at his recent Gateshead appearance, mixing parts of her speech to the United Nations with one of his most popular hits, the 1999 classic "Right Here, Right Now".
At Fatboy Slims live performance, the words of Thunberg were first heard in the English original. In her speech to the UN, the 16-year-old Swede denounced world leaders for not doing enough to fight the climate crisis. Whole ecosystems are breaking down, we're at the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can talk about is money. "
In addition, Thunberg said at the end of September speech, "We will not let you get away with it, right here and now we're pulling the line." In the original Thunberg says the words: "Right here, right now is where we draw the line" - and that was the starting point for the Fatboy Slim Remix.
He made the rounds at the end of September on Twitter, a corresponding video had uploaded the musician David Scott of The Kiffness there.
