The journey of building a data-driven future is not just about opening up and sharing data between government agencies, although this is a strategic achievement and the destination we are working on by 2021, but it resembles any unprecedented global challenge you have seen around you in Dubai over the years. It becomes a reality for the availability of construction materials or builders only, but with a clear strategy and action plan and an integrated team roles, in addition to an urban system that surrounded the tower and made it one of the most important landmarks in the world.

Technique is a must

Her one goal

Is human service

And to improve his life ».

At Dubai Smart, we built our data model, taking into account what data means in human life, both on a personal and practical level, so we built it on four pillars that make up a unique data model that is unparalleled globally. These pillars are: First: Creating value, and here I mean not only material but by creating cases of the most important use of people and institutions, and support the intelligent decision that leads to economic prosperity and living, secondly: data governance, which I will stop in the following two lines, and third: the design of city data and private infrastructure Fourth, integration and interaction around the data system from all sides through the Data Lab and initiatives such as Data Challenge First.

It is no coincidence that the second pillar in our model is governance, because we know that the data are the details of our government work and related to human life in all its aspects, and most importantly is to control and protect the data journey to be in the service of man before any other matter.

Governance in the data model is like building a place to receive people around the clock and making them happy.Details, furniture, and aesthetics of the place are of no value if there are no transparent rules known to all that regulate their use, and ensure that no one does harm to the place, and most importantly does not harm people.

In governance, we focused on two aspects: regulating human behavior in data handling by issuing data policies, and regulating the role of machine and technology in data processing by issuing artificial intelligence ethics. Data policies have come to create a unified understanding of the data sector for everyone in the public and private sectors, including controls that provide maximum protection and security of data in the world, and in the ethics of artificial intelligence we sought to address all that results from the automated handling of data and the technologies that benefit from them, such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.

Data and any technical things you hear about must have one goal: to serve the human being and to improve his life, which for us is the first criterion for measuring our success. Technology is just a means and your goal happiness.
